            Southern Crown competed in the International Jumper Futurity for Four-Year-Olds in 2001 and placed in Schooling Jumpers in 2002 and Training Jumpers in 2003. His sire, South Pacific, was the Champion Stallion of the North American Holsteiner Breeding Program in 1984.  In 1994, he won the $20,000 ESSO Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows and placed in 16 other national and international jumping competitions, including fifth in the $100,000 Grand Prix of Indio, and ranked seventh in the EMO Agency, Inc. 1994 PCHA Grand Prix Horse of the Year standings.  South Pacific ranked third among American-Based Jumper Sires and 16th on the list of International Jumper Sires in 2001 and ranked fourth in 2002 for the South Pacific Memorial Award for the Leading American-Based Jumper Sire.  Southern Crown’s dam, the Premuim Holsteiner mare E’Coronada, was the 1994 International Jumper Futurity Western Regional Four-Year-Old Reserve Champion.

            Southern Crown’s brothers and sisters have won and consistently placed in all levels of jumper competition, the Hunter Divisions, and the International Jumper Futurity.  They include, among others, Grand Prix winner South Shore, and Grand Prix placed Ocean I and Surprise, Derby winner Sydney, and Jumper Champions Lu Lu Belle, Southern Echo, Southern Flight, Sahara, Sierra, Giselle, Southern Breeze, Sea Spray, Shaman, South Beach, Superman, Saveur de Cour, Southern Showtime, Southern Crown, Starbuck, Shamu and Southern Pride; the 2003 National PHR Silver Stirrup Champion and Reserve Six-Year-Old Jumpers Samoan Chief and Sail Away; the 2002 South Pacific Memorial Award runner-up Ocean II; the 2000 Four-Year-Old IJF Western Most Grand Prix Potential Champion South Bay; Hunter Champions Southern Lights, South Sea, Sebastian, Island Queen, and Summer Tan; the 2002 USA Equestrian Zone 10 Two-Year-Old Hunter Breeding Champion and Reserve Champion, respectively, Pashmina and Polynesia; the 2002 USA Equestrian Zone 10 Yearling Hunter Breeding Champion and Reserve Champion, respectively, Romantic Affair and Reef Point; the 2001 USA Equestrian Zone 10 and Zone 10 PHR/Silver Stirrup Two-Year-Old Hunter Breeding Champion and 2000 Zone 10 PHR/Silver Stirrup Yearling Hunter Breeding Champion Ondine; the 2001 Zone 10 PHR/Silver Stirrup Two-Year-Old Hunter Breeding Reserve Champion and 2000 Zone 10 PHR/Silver Stirrup Yearling Hunter Reserve Champion Oahu; the 1997 AHSA Zone 10 Three-Year-Old Hunter Breeding Champion Johanna; and Hunter Breeding Champions Gabreal, Good & Plenty, Southern Cross, Reina Del Mar, Over the Rainbow, and Pacifica.
